Einride has partnered with Ericsson over 5G. The partnership begins with the installation of a 5G network (4G radio with 5G core) in collaboration with Telia – a leading telco in the Nordic-Baltic region – at a DB Schenker location in Jönköping, Sweden, where it will provide connectivity for the world’s first commercial application of Einride’s T-pod.
“Einride’s driving mission is to lead the sustainable transition of road freight transportation. 5G provides the connectivity and reliability we need to safely introduce the T-pod on public roads, paving the way for a 90 percent reduction in CO2 emissions and an elimination of NOx emissions” says Robert Falck, CEO, and founder of Einride.
“There is a paradigm shift going on in the transport industry and 5G with its high data speeds and ultra-low latency is powering a new world of autonomous vehicles that takes fleet management to the next level. Einride’s transportation solution, is a perfect example of how 5G can drive cost efficiencies, improve safety and create a sustainable future” says Åsa Tamsons, Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area Technologies & New Businesses, Ericsson.
Part commercial enterprise, part revolutionary movement, Einride is bent on a complete transformation of the transportation industry. By challenging conventional thinking, by utilizing big data and cutting-edge technology — and by inspiring people to take responsibility for the planet and each other — Einride is making the movement of goods more intelligent: emission-free, safe, cost-effective, and ultimately, sustainable.
